Why a Female Teacher Makes a Difference

With a female teacher, sisters learn without self-consciousness. They ask questions they might not ask in a mixed setting. They focus fully on the lesson rather than the environment.

The female Companions of the Prophet, peace be upon him, were scholars and teachers. Aisha bint Abi Bakr, may Allah be pleased with her, was one of the most prolific transmitters of Hadith in Islamic history. She taught both men and women. That tradition of female Islamic scholarship continues today, and it continues at Luton Quran Academy.

Quran classes for sisters

Courses Available for Sisters

Noorani Qaida

The starting point for any sister who cannot yet read Arabic. Our female teacher has taken many sisters through the complete Noorani Qaida, from the very first letter to reading connected Quranic words. Most sisters complete it in three to six months with two sessions a week.

Nazra

Reading the full Quran from cover to cover, page by page, with the teacher listening and correcting every session. Over 130 students have completed Nazra at Luton Quran Academy. Many of them are sisters.

Tajweed

Our female teacher is Ijazah-certified in Tajweed. Sisters who want to correct their Makhraj, improve their Madd, and apply the full rules of Tajweed during recitation receive the same standard of instruction as our male teacher provides.

Hifz

Full Quran memorisation for girls from age 7 and adult sisters. Classical Sabaq, Sabqi, Manzil methodology. Individual targets. Weekly progress updates.

Islamic Studies

Aqeedah, Fiqh including Fiqh specific to women, Seerat-un-Nabi with attention to the female Companions, and Islamic ethics for Muslim women in Britain. Open, intelligent, question-friendly sessions.

Online Classes for Sisters in Luton

Online is the most popular option among sisters. No travel. No childcare arrangements. No compromise on privacy. Sessions are available from early morning to late evening, seven days a week.

The teaching quality is identical to in-person. Our female teacher hears every word of your recitation via video call and corrects in real time. Many sisters who expected online to feel impersonal find it builds exactly the same kind of relationship as face-to-face sessions.

Girls from Age 4

Our female teacher specialises in young beginners. Girls from age 4 are welcome. Sessions for this age group are 20 to 25 minutes, patient, encouraging, and designed to make children genuinely enjoy learning the Quran rather than dread it.

Sisters Who Are Reverts

Many reverts in Luton and across Bedfordshire have started their Quran journey with our female teacher. No Arabic. No Islamic background. No problem. We start from zero and build at your pace.
